Knights of Columbus Fraternal Benefit Night
You're invited to a Virtual Webinar with Industry Leader Van Mueller December 1st, 2021 at 7:30 PM (AZ & UT).
Financial Success Under Most Any Circumstances
You're invited to join our webinar where Van will ask some wonderful compelling questions that will help you clarify how to have financial and retirement success. Here are a few examples.
1) How can you maximize your social security?
2) Do you prefer to build a legacy for your family and business or the Internal Revenue Service?
3) If there was a way to reduce or eliminate the income tax liability on your IRA or 401K, when would you want to know about it. Before or after they charge the tax?*
4) Can you build a wonderful retirement income if interest rates remain at zero and the stock market offers zero return for a decade?
* Always consult with your tax advisor before implementing any strategy.

Our final Coats for Kids GIVEAWAY for 2021 will onSaturday, December 11th from 10 AM to 12 noon at theat the Nations for Christ (N4C) Church (Non-Denominational Christian Church) at 295 E 200 S, Clearfield UT. This will be the balance of coats. The criteria will be the same as our other distributions: school age youth, Davis County youth, child must be present and parent must be present. The N4C provide food for those in need and typically serve over 200 families each month. So I think we should have a good pool to distribute coats to youth in need.

NATIONS FOR CHRIST CHURCH, 295 E 200 S, Clearfield, UT 84015, USA
Sent: Tue, Nov 23, 2021 at 5:01 PM

Council 6010 has scheduled our 2nd Coats for Kids GIVEAWAY for Thursday, December 9th from 3 PM to 5:30 PM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Rotunda at 210 S. Chapel Street, Layton.
Our final Coats for Kids GIVEAWAY for 2021 will on Saturday, December 11th from 10 AM to 12 noon at the at the Nations for Christ (N4C) Church (Non-Denominational Christian Church) at 295 E 200 S, Clearfield UT.  This will be the balance of coats.  The criteria will be the same as our other distributions:  school age youth, Davis County youth, child must be present and parent must be present.  The N4C provide food for those in need and typically serve over 200 families each month.  So I think we should have a good pool to distribute coats to youth in need.
Please post this information.

Worthy Fraternal Leader,
Your council is invited to participate in the pilot phase of Supreme’s Affiliate Member Initiative (AMI). This initiative will enable the Supreme and State Councils to manage the engagement of members who are not engaged at the local council level.
The pilot phase, which runs from January 1 – 31, will allow you to recommend qualified members to be designated as Affiliates. When processed, these members will no longer appear on your roster. This will not be treated as a negative in your eligibility for council awards.
There will be a special briefing next Thursday, December 16, at 9:00 PM EST. Everything you need to know will be covered and the necessary resources will be distributed. If you are unable to attend, you may watch it later on demand. You may invite other officers from your council to attend by sending this registration link to them:

Participation is not mandatory, but we hope you will take advantage of this great opportunity.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest
Online Resources: Faith in Action - Community Programs - Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest; Chairman is Sir Knight William McCauley, FMFD, FDD
The Catholic Citizenship Essay Contest to encourage today’s youth to be more connected to their community and their faith. The goal of this program is to involve young Catholics in 8th through 12th grade (public, private, parochial or home schools) in civic discourse and instill in them religious and life affirming values. Entrants will be judged on grammar, style, and how clearly they present the theme – which should showcase
creativity, imagination and overall development of the topic.
This year’s topic is especially timely, as it encourages young people to discuss how their faith has helped them to persevere during a difficult time and to share what they learned with others:
In an essay of 500-750 words, describe everyday obstacles that you may have experienced or witnessed others experiencing
while living a life of authentic faith. Explain how you have overcome these obstacles and how, by doing so, it has helped
your faith to continue to grow.
All essays should be submitted to the local Council by November 30, 2021 for judging. The Council needs to send up to five winning essays (one for each grade) to their District Deputy by December 20, 2021. Grand Knights, please report in an email to Bill McCauley the numbers of essays you received by grade. I need to receive up to five essays from each District (one in each grade) by January 8, 2022 so the State judges can select
the winning essays for Utah and submit them to Supreme by January 31, 2022.
Councils can determine their own prizes of cash and/or certificates and/or something else. The State will award certificates and a check for $25 (1st place), $20 (2nd place), and $15 (3rdplace ) for the winning essays in each of the five (5) grade levels, for a maximum of $300. Remember, this is a Faith in Action Community Program.
Calendar Note: January 8, 2022 is the day of the State Midyear Meeting in Bountiful, Utah. District Deputies can bring their winners to the meeting and not actually mail the winning district essays.
Online resources are here. The Program Kit may be ordered through Supplies Online for $5 (includes UPS ground shipping).

A Prayer for Persecuted Christians
O God of all the nations, the One God who is and was and always will be, in your providence you willed that your Church be united to the suffering of your Son. Look with mercy on your servants who are persecuted for their faith in you. Grant them perseverance and courage to be worthy imitators of Christ. Bring your wisdom upon leaders of nations to work for peace among all peoples. May your Spirit open conversion for those who contradict your will, that we may live in harmony. Give us the grace to be united in truth and freedom, and to always seek your will in our lives. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us.
